How are your two events connected?

Well, David’s and my event are connected in a way that has to do with piracy. Not only any type of piracy but a computerized piracy. Though my event was about a Russian Headmaster that used pirated copies of Microsoft software, they are both similiar or should I say matched in showing that people these days are getting fined or even maybe arrested due to technological interference. The two are also connected in a sort of computer piracy as I would say.

What did you find interesting about this topic?

What I found interesting about this topic is that today in present time everyone in the world should take extra caution when it comes to computers, this also refers to not doing any illegal manners that will put you in a dangerous level where you are been fined or even taken to prison. Even though we may live in a world full of criminal minds and events that can take place unexpectidly, we all know that we should all take a safe step in our lives and later on bring success in achieving our goals, and especially not get in a serious situation when going to prison.

What did you like about the initial blog posting?

What I liked about the initial blog posting was that David chose a good current event that concerns everyone at most when it comes to using the internet. What I also liked was that he chose an event that shows that we people on Earth should always be precautious of our doings or what we basically do in our life. So well done David, you did a great job! Keep up the great work!

Questions of the United Nations

In class, we had a group assignment which was to pick a question that concerns the United Nations and for homework answer it. My group question was “should the five permanent members of the security council continue to retain their veto power? Why or why not?”

It seems that at this very moment the five permanent members of the Security council are: the US, UK, Russia, China, and France. The very thing that makes the permanent members so strong, is their veto power. Now I do not think that the very members should actually continue to keep hold of their veto power, because say for example the many people of the world vote not to declare war against Iraq, and one of the permanent members of the Security Council says that it is a must to have war. Since that one country says yes, all the desicions of the world’s people is then ingulfed by the immense statement of what that one country said. To me that is not fair for what all the people of the world declared, and to think about it, it does not make sense to make a final desicion on something based on what one the countrys of the permanent members said. So it is absolutely sure thatthe members of the Security Council should not continue to retain their immense “veto” power.

Bomb kills 22 at Pakistani rally

What is the issue?

The issue is that a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured the interior minister of Pakistan on the Pakistani border on Saturday, April 28. The Interior Minister, Aftab Khan Sherpao, was giving a speech at a meeting at a Pakistani rally when straight after he finished his speech a blast occurred. The minister was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Who is involved?

The suicide bomber was involved because he was the very one that seemed to cost many lives on that very day. Plus he was the only one involved for the rest of the civilians that were there on that very day of the blast were all effected in some way.

Who is affected and how?

The very families of the ones that died on the day of the event are affected for they might have lost a family member or very close friend in this case. Including the Interior Minister himself was affected, for on the day of the bomb event one of his sons was one of the victims and also many politicians and security officials died as well.

What would you do if you were directly involved?

What I would do if I was directly involved would be to pressure the government of Pakistan in spending more money on security. Such as having more people to work for security of the country, and also having the state of the art latest technology so that it is very simple to track a terrorist or bomber at any time and any place. By having all of these things of the country, I would say the people of Pakistan would be more safe from horrific incidents.

Aid arrives in flood-hit Bolivia

What is the issue ?

The issue is that an international aid had arrived in Bolivia, in which it had seen its worst flood in 25 years. The floods killed nearly 40 people and worst of it, is that tens of thousands of people had to be forced away from their homes. Many diseases had been spread in the flood which causes a major effect on the civilians that live there. One of the diseases that was thought found, was dengue fever. During this terribly horrific nightmare, landslides had stopped the evacuations of civilians from there flood zones. The flood had caused a major impact on the people’s homes and families, with having 350,000 people effected and having 1,600 cases of dengue fever and 1,400 of malaria.

Who is involved ?

President Evo Morales is involved for he is the one who blames the floods on some certain developed states that are failing to fight the forces of nature. Meteorologists, because they are the ones that believed that El Nino, which is a form of weird unpredicting weather is what caused all this catastrophe, and Health officials for they the ones that help the poor hearts that are in need of a rescue.

Who is Affected and How?

The very civilians of Bolivia are affected because they are the very ones that may have lost maybe loved ones or their very lives and their homes and shelter. We all know that losing a loved one can really haunt our lives forever and that is why it is important to care for each other and work independently and collaborativley.

What would you do if you directly involved ?

If I was directly involved in this situation of the flood in Bolivia, I of course  would find a cure for all the diseases that effected the very lives of the civilians and try to have accurate predictions on weather so that I am able to evacuate the people of  the certain area or country that is going to be effected by the forces of nature.

What would you change about the final product (wiki you created) if you were to do the assignment again?

What I would change about the final product if I were to do the assignment again, would be to clean up a few little mistakes and make some adjustment so that my wiki looks nice and organized and easy to understand, this is so that viewers are able to find certain information and get to there immidiatly so they won’t have to get to this page and then this one and then the next just to find a fact. So I would do that and make loads more colorful things so that my wiki looks very striking and so that I can attract more viewers and they can get what they needed.

Look at some of the other wikis from any class and find a few that you think are done exceptionally well. Tell me the name of the empire and the block, and then explain what you like about their wiki.

Kongo Kingdom: Block D

I liked the way how they organized the work it really brings out a lot of their talent in researching and their attraction of their ability to think as well

Reflection Paragraph - Homework For Block H - 8 Feb, 2007

What did you learn from this task?

What I learned from this very task in completing the wiki project, is that there is a lot more to know in our past than we thought. I have learned how people have fought in wars and sacrificed their many lives, and also how the empires of Africa’s life-style has been going on and on and on. I have learned how we humans first started off from the very continent of Africa and travelled through the rest of the world to bring a diversity of cultures, life-style, and many other things that brought how we became today to use many technologies as well. When completing this task I have learned that it is very, very important to get a job done at the right time, because if you don’t bring in work at the right time, then what sense does it make to even bring it in if your grade is going to be marked in late. So as I finished my last wiki I realized that there is more to us humans in the past than we thought. This task was very mind bowing for me as well.

Did you find this difficult or easy? Why?

Well through this task I have not found this too difficult nor too easy, this is because I found it just fine and perfeclty alright for me to complete and get the job done. Through this whole project and though all the researching I did, it seems that in some areas information on the Internet was not that much clarified and specified into the exact information and facts that I needed to complete this project. So therefore at that very point I found it a bit difficult to back up my information, and in most areas it was very simple for me to get to the right section and area to retrieve the type of information which I needed. So this seemed like an ok project to me.

What would you change about the process you went through to complete the wiki if you were to do the assignment again?

What I would change about the whole process of this project if I were to do it again, would be that I would make certain and particular times to make certain things for the wiki. Ex: I would make these couple of lessons for researching, this lesson for pictures, this lesson for links, and this lesson for cleaning up the wiki and making little changes and switches. This is so we can organize the exact time to complete each and every thing so that we can get the job done in just a flash.

How are your two events connected?

My two events are connected by having the two articles being of course discussed about the same topic, and also and mainly about having Iraq having major problems. In this very article I have chosen, the news was all about president George W. Bush having a discussion and meeting with the Shiite leader of Iraq. The two leaders had a conversation for up to an hour. The purpose and main point of the two leaders colliding and meeting each other was to have a discussion on the main problems that Iraq is currently facing, president George W. Bush stated that Iraq’s solutions for its problems are not progressing a lot, which means that the percentage of safety in Iraq for the citizens that live there has not been able to grow in progress. President George W. Bush then said that Iraq in the future will be supported by the United States and by the prime minister of Iraq as well.

What did you find interesting about this topic?

What I found interesting about this topic is that it questioned me a lot about the safety of the citizens of Iraq. This topic questioned me by having ask myself: “is war in Iraq going to be continuing on forever?” So I thought if war is going to be carrying on forever in that particular area, is it going to be in the future, a main war zone for war? Are the citizens of Iraq always going to live their lives in horror? All I can say is that this was a very tough topic to think about, and I loved it, because by having tough topics in your hand and brain, you will be able to think really hard on it and think of all the possibilities that can happen or all the factors that are able to occure and effect lives and possibly the world, you never know, so I really enjoyed having to think about this very topic.

What did you like about the initial blog posting?

What I liked about the intial blog posting, which was Mei Huii’s was that it was very descriptive in many ways. I have observed that she has put a very small amount of information in there, yet she has brought it up well by using an intense amount of glorious vocabulary. I loved the way she has used different ways of puting each word in every sentence, for it really brought up the true character of Mei Huii and of course her personality. Though there were a bit and some mistakes that were a bit obvious, which some were: the picture did not seem to have been in the right position due to the text position, the links were not at all that linked, and at the bottom there was no need to type “picture” if your picture is at the top of the posting. Yet the posting, work, and article were all great, I really enjoy having to hear your vocabulary usage! Keep up the great work, and a fine job you have done for the previous one!

H5N1 virus strikes an outbreak In South Korea

What is the issue?

The issue is that there has been an outbreak of what seemed to be a type of H2N1 virus at a farm at Iksan, South Korea.

Who is involved?

The South Korean ministry of agriculture, South Korean quarantine officials, and the head of the agriculture ministry’s livestock bureau, Lee Sang-gil.

Who is affected and How?

The civilians of South Korea and possibly the world. After the outbreak in Iksan, officials have slaughtered 236,000 poultry. The H5N1 virus began hitting Asian poultry stock in 2003, and has killed at least over 153 people worlwide. Since 2003, South Korea has eliminated 5.3 million birds during the last known outbreak of bird flu in that very year. Scientists fear that the virus might mutate into a form that could be even more deadly to human contact and could be very, very contagious.

What would I do if I was directly involved?

I would find a cure for this deadly virus, so that I can save many hearts and souls of this very world. By doing this the world can keep its current population and extend even more if the cure was found for this virus.

Reflection For “My Life”

Describe your life story.

My life story is my name is Salah and I was born in Malaysia in the year 1994. My mom is from Morocco (a country in northern Africa) and my dad is from Malaysia that is found in Southeast Asia. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters and I am now have reached at the age of 12. I study in a school in Malaysia and live in a farm in Morocco and travel there for the holidays during the summer. My youngest brother’s is Fakharuddin, my youngest sister’s name is Nada, my eldest sister’s is Aqimila, my second eldest brother is Hasan, and my eldest brother is Norman. My favorite food is roasted chicken with rice and the sports that I play are basketball, karate, soccer.

How will you demonstrate this in the iMovie?

I will demonstrate the iMovie by organizing the family members by each of their ages, so basically systematically from youngest to oldest. I will also organize them by each event occurring at certain times, so basically from past to present.

What challenges will you face completing this project?

The challenges I will face completing this project presenting the iMovie/life story the class, because the presentation needs to be clear to the audience and so that they can understand my whole life story. My other challenge is controlling iMovie because every spec of importance in my life needs to be explained which is kind hard because some clips of certain events that occurred in my life might not be in the iMovie. Yet I will try to present other events and of course my family and friends.

How will you overcome them?

I will overcome them by practicing presenting my life story to myself so that I will overcome my fears in standing up to people.

Oct. 6 2006 Reflection on Presentations

I thought the presentations were great because I got to learn a lot about other countries that I had no knowledge of, and it is a great oppurtinity to learn about these magnificeint countries for later on in the future, if we travel to one of these countries you will have more knowledge about these countries. For example I never knew there is such country in the mideastern mediterranean named Cyprus, well occasionally it is an island. I have seen so many presentations and I have learned a lot of things that can improve my future presentations. For example as I have seen, I must now improve my volume of voice and to be more loud and clear so that everyone can hear and understand every word I say, because if no one can understand or hear a word I say I can might as well get a bad grade. I have learned a lot of things such as, that Russia has a very small population due to weather conditions that can harm or even kill inocent civilians. I really enjoyed the presentations for they gave me a great amount of knowledge to my brain, and hopefully in future I can learn even more knowledge from even more countries.
